E5 E - Use audio tools for pronunciation
E5 E - Use audio tools for pronunciation
Einleitung
Listen. Repeat. Compare. Try again.
In diesem aiMOOC lernst Du, digitale Audiohilfen für die englische Aussprache zu nutzen. Du hörst ein Wort, sprichst es nach und vergleichst Deine eigene Aufnahme mit einem Modell. Wichtig ist: Be understood – not sound perfect. Verständlichkeit ist wichtiger als Akzentfreiheit.

Mini task: Look at the picture. What do you use headphones for? – To listen.
Listen twice. Beide Aufnahmen sagen hello. Sie klingen nicht ganz gleich. Englisch hat verschiedene Akzente und Aussprachevarianten. Dein Ziel ist eine verständliche Aussprache.
Lernziele
Nach diesem Kurs kannst Du:
- listen to a pronunciation model and hear important sounds.
- repeat a word or short sentence clearly.
- use audio tools safely and compare two recordings.
- use a practised word in a short dialogue.
New words and chunks
| English | Hilfe |
|---|---|
| listen | zuhören |
| repeat | nachsprechen |
| record | aufnehmen |
| compare | vergleichen |
| clear | gut verständlich |
| Can you say that again? | Kannst Du das noch einmal sagen? |
| How do you pronounce ...? | Wie sprichst Du ... aus? |

Vorwissen-Check
Say these words aloud: hello – school – friend – favourite.
Then ask yourself:
- Can I say the word without stopping?
- Do I know where I can hear a model?
- Can another person understand me?
No score yet. This is only your start point.
Die Lernschleife

| Step | Your action |
|---|---|
| See | Read the word or short sentence. |
| Hear | Listen to a reliable audio model. |
| Understand | Check the meaning. |
| Repeat | Say it slowly, then normally. |
| Use | Put it into a short sentence or dialogue. |
| Feedback | Listen to yourself or ask a partner. |
| Use again | Say the word again in a new sentence. |
Tip: Do this loop more than once. One try is often not enough.
Audio tools: What can help?
You can use a dictionary with a speaker button, a school-approved text-to-speech tool, an audio file, or the recorder on your device.
Safe use: Deine Aufnahme ist freiwillig. Speichere sie möglichst nur lokal und privat. Lade keine Sprachaufnahme ungefragt hoch. Nutze keine externe KI-Sprachanalyse ohne Erlaubnis. Verwende nur fiktive Namen und Daten in Übungen.
Important: Automatic speech recognition can give a hint, but it is not a final judgement. A tool can misunderstand a clear voice, a different accent or background noise. Listen yourself and ask: Is it understandable?
Model: hello
Listen again:
Now:
- Listen two times.
- Repeat three times.
- Record one private try if you want.
- Compare your rhythm and the first sound.
- Use the word: Hello, I’m Mia.
Mia is a fictional profile.
One sound: /h/ in hello
You do not need to learn all phonetic symbols now. The sign /h/ can help you notice the first sound in hello.
Watch a short part. Then say: hello – hot – happy.
Help: Beim /h/ strömt hörbar Luft aus dem Mund. Sprich locker. Du musst keinen bestimmten englischen Akzent nachmachen.
Short listening focus: /ɪ/
Listen for the short sound in words such as sit or big. Do not learn the whole sound system now. Train one contrast at a time.
Mini-dialogue
Mia: How do you pronounce hello?
Sam: Listen: hello.
Mia: Hello!
Sam: Yes. I understand you.
Now change one word. Use a word from your English lesson.
Grammar in communication: can + verb
Use can + verb to ask for help:
Can you say that again?
Can you repeat the word?
After can, use the basic verb form: can say, can repeat, can listen.
Feedback that helps
After your recording, do not ask: Do I sound exactly like the model?
Ask:
- Is the word understandable?
- Can I hear the important sound?
- Is the word stress close enough to the model?
- Can I say the word again more clearly?
If one answer is no: listen again, change one small thing, and retry.
Mini-Wiederholung
Complete the loop with one word:
see → hear → understand → repeat → use → feedback → use again
Choose: friend, school or favourite.
Then make one sentence, for example: My favourite school subject is English.
I-can-Check
| I can ... | Yes | Not yet |

| repeat a short word clearly | □ | □ |
| make a private recording | □ | □ |
| compare without copying an accent exactly | □ | □ |

Lückentext
Offene Aufgaben
Leicht
- Listen twice: Wähle ein bekanntes englisches Wort und höre es zweimal in einer schulisch erlaubten Audioquelle.
- Three tries: Sprich dasselbe Wort dreimal. Verändere beim dritten Versuch nur eine Sache, zum Beispiel Tempo oder Betonung.
- Help chunk: Übe die Frage Can you say that again? und verwende sie in einem Mini-Dialog.
- Picture and word: Zeichne ein kleines Bild zu einem englischen Wort und schreibe darunter einen Satz mit dem Wort.
Standard
- Private recording: Nimm freiwillig zwei kurze Versuche lokal auf. Vergleiche nur Verständlichkeit und Rhythmus. Kein Upload nötig.
- Mini-dialogue: Schreibe und sprich einen Vier-Zeilen-Dialog mit How do you pronounce ...? und Can you say that again?.
- Tool check: Vergleiche zwei erlaubte Audiohilfen. Beschreibe auf Deutsch, welche Hilfe Dir beim Hören besser hilft und warum.
- Partner feedback: Lass einen Partner nur beantworten: I understand it oder Please say it again. Verbessere danach einen Satz.
Schwer
- New word challenge: Finde ein neues englisches Wort aus Deinem Fachunterricht. Erkläre Deinen Weg von see bis use again.
- Two models: Höre zwei seriöse Modelle desselben Wortes.
