Mini-Beschreibung: Give the essential information from a short e-mail, message or invitation in the other language. Make it clear for the person who needs the information. Do not translate every word.

Einleitung

You get a short message in German or English. Another person cannot understand it well. Your job is to pass on the important information in the other language.

This is called mediation. You are not a translation machine. You read, choose the key information and say it in a way that fits the person and the situation.

Understand: Message or translation?

A good mediation is clear, short and useful. It keeps the meaning, but it can change the wording.

Not good: translating word by word and keeping information that the reader does not need.

Better: choosing the key information and writing natural, simple sentences.

Say the phrases slowly, then naturally:

2. Mediation mit Rückfrage: Bearbeite eine Nachricht, in der eine wichtige Angabe fehlt. Formuliere zuerst die passende Rückfrage und danach die Mediation.
3. Fehlerdetektiv: Schreibe absichtlich eine fehlerhafte Mediation mit zwei falschen oder fehlenden Angaben. Tauscht und korrigiert sie.
4. Mini-Projekt Sprachmittlung: Erstelle eine fiktive Einladung auf Deutsch und eine adressatengerechte englische Mediation. Verwende keine echten Namen, Adressen oder privaten Daten.

Lernkontrolle

1. Informationsauswahl: Eine Nachricht enthält sieben Angaben, aber nur vier sind für den Empfänger wichtig. Begründe, welche vier du weitergibst.
2. Adressatengerecht schreiben: Formuliere dieselbe Kerninformation einmal für einen gleichaltrigen Freund und einmal für eine Lehrkraft. Erkläre zwei Unterschiede.
