Reading

A Saturday plan

Mia, Ben and Noor want to meet on Saturday. They choose Green Park, a fictional place. They meet at the main gate at eleven o’clock. Mia brings sandwiches. Ben brings apples and water. Noor brings a blanket and a small ball. They plan to eat, talk and play a game. At two o’clock, Noor has to go home. The friends check the weather before they leave.

Read and answer:

1. Where do the friends meet?
2. What does Ben bring?
3. Why do they check the weather?

Try English first. Hint: Scan the text for place, food and reason. German help: Suche gezielt nach Treffpunkt, Bens Mitbringseln und dem Grund für den Wetter-Check. Example: “They meet at …” Solution: They meet at the main gate. Ben brings apples and water. They check the weather because their picnic is outside.

Pronunciation

Say these chunks, not single words only:

That sounds good.

How about twelve?

Keep the main words clear. You do not need to sound like a native speaker.

Pair check: Can your partner understand the time, place and activity? If yes, your pronunciation works.

Speaking

Work with a partner. Make a new plan for a fictional Saturday.

You need:

1. one place
2. one time
3. one activity
4. one thing to bring
5. one polite change of plan

Useful start: “Are you free on Saturday?” → “Let’s …” → “Can we meet at …?” → “How about …?”

Less support: Close the model and speak for 30–45 seconds.

Recording is optional. If you record your voice, keep it private on your device or use only a school-approved system. Do not upload your voice, face, name, location or other personal data just for this task.

Short writing

Write a message of about 5–7 sentences to a fictional classmate.

Include:

Example opening: “Hi Alex, are you free on Saturday? Let’s meet in the park.”

Then write your own version. Do not copy the complete example.

Sprachmittlung

Your German-speaking friend asks: “Wann und wo trefft ihr euch und was soll ich mitbringen?”

Use this English note:

Saturday picnic – 11:00 – main park gate – bring water and a snack – no money needed – finish at 14:00.

Explain the important information in simple German. Do not translate every word. Give only what your friend needs.
