ABI - Mein persönlicher Englisch-Abitur-Lernplan
ABI - Mein persönlicher Englisch-Abitur-Lernplan
Mini-Beschreibung: Build a realistic English Abitur study plan from your exam date, competence profile, required canon and available study time. Train spaced repetition, listening/viewing, reading, speaking, writing, required works, thematic fields and full mock exams without replacing your own thinking and writing.
Target group: Kursstufe Baden-Württemberg, Englisch als fortgeführte Fremdsprache, gemeinsamer BF/LF-Kurs. English first: Use context, word formation, visualisation, an English explanation and a dictionary before you ask for German help.

Media warm-up: Watch the video once without notes. Then write one sentence: What makes practice effective for me? Watch again and collect two ideas you can test during the next seven days.
Einleitung
A good Abitur plan is not a giant to-do list. It is a repeatable learning system. You decide what matters, practise retrieval instead of only rereading, produce English regularly and use feedback to choose the next task.
This aiMOOC uses the 2027 Abitur in Baden-Württemberg as a checked example. For the allgemeinbildende Gymnasium, the current official schedule lists the written English examination on Friday, 30 April 2027. The 2027 focus is On the Move: Migration and Cross-Cultural Encounters. If your Abitur year is different, replace the date and check the current official Facherlass before planning.
I-can-Ziele
By the end of this aiMOOC, you can say:
- I can build a weekly plan from my real available time instead of an idealised timetable.
- I can identify my weakest high-impact skills and turn them into concrete practice tasks.
- I can retrieve key knowledge about required works and thematic fields without looking at notes.
- I can understand spoken English for gist, structure, attitude and relevant detail.
- I can analyse texts and media with precise evidence and explain effects rather than only naming devices.
- I can speak for several minutes in a structured way and respond flexibly in a discussion.
- I can plan, write and revise an exam-style response independently.
- I can use feedback and AI critically without outsourcing my essay, analysis or source checking.
Vorwissen: Dein 10-Minuten-Check
Do this before making the plan. Rate each area from 0 to 2: 0 = insecure, 1 = partly secure, 2 = secure under time pressure.
| Area | Quick diagnostic | 0–2 |
|---|---|---|
| Listening | I can identify gist, speaker position and relevant detail after one or two hearings. | |
| Reading | I can distinguish main claim, evidence, tone and structure. | |
| Analysis | I can explain how a choice of language or form creates an effect. | |
| Speaking | I can organise a 5-minute monologue and respond spontaneously. | |
| Writing | I can plan, argue, support and revise under time pressure. | |
| Mediation | I can select and convey relevant information for a target audience instead of translating sentence by sentence. | |
| Required works | I can retrieve characters, conflicts, themes, structure and useful links between works. | |
| Thematic fields | I can connect material to migration, identity, USA and UK contexts taught in class. |
Your priority rule: Start with the two lowest scores that matter most for your examination route. Re-test them every two weeks.
Dein Plan-Builder
Fill in only realistic numbers. Use fictional names and data in examples.
| Planning question | Your entry |
|---|---|
| My Abitur year | __________ |
| My course | BF / LF |
| My examination date | __________ |
| Weeks remaining | __________ |
| Realistic minutes per week | __________ |
| Best study days | __________ |
| Two weakest high-impact skills | __________ |
| Required works actually covered in class | __________ |
| Next school assessment | __________ |
Capacity check: Multiply your remaining weeks by the minutes you can genuinely protect each week. Keep about 20% as buffer for illness, school peaks and revision. A plan that survives a difficult week is better than a perfect plan you abandon.
Three realistic weekly models
| Weekly time | Starter structure | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| 120 minutes | 3 × 25 min + 1 × 45 min | Minimum viable routine: retrieval, one receptive task, one productive task, error review |
| 180 minutes | 4 × 30 min + 1 × 60 min | Balanced routine with weekly speaking and writing |
| 300 minutes | 4 × 45 min + 2 × 60 min | Higher-volume LF preparation, deeper linking of works and timed practice |
Do not fill every session with new content. A useful starter distribution is: review and vocabulary 20%, listening/reading 25%, speaking 20%, writing 25%, error log and buffer 10%. Adjust it to your diagnostic profile.
Aktueller Abi-Check Baden-Württemberg
Stand: 02.10.2026. The official 2027 regulations are the model here. Always check the version for your examination year.
Prüfung 2027: LF im Überblick
For the written LF route, the official 2027 detail plan gives approximately 30 minutes of listening, a 15-minute break and 225 minutes of writing including selection time. The current overall English Abitur weighting is 20% listening, 55% writing and 25% communication examination.
The communication examination is trained through a structured monologue and a responsive dialogue. Practise speaking as thinking aloud with structure, not as memorised scripts.
BF und LF im gemeinsamen Kurs
| Shared core | BF: exemplarisch und strukturiert | LF: größere Breite und Tiefe |
|---|---|---|
| Same overarching competence areas | Smaller, carefully selected material set | Broader material links and higher text complexity |
| Required focus and class material | More scaffolds, models and guided planning | More independent synthesis across sources and works |
| Analysis and response | Secure AFB I/II, then targeted transfer | Stronger emphasis on AFB II/III and independent judgement |
| Speaking and writing | Clear structures, manageable production tasks | Longer, denser and more autonomous production |
Both BF and LF orient towards B2, partly C1 by the end of the course. This is a learning orientation, not an invitation to make every task artificially difficult.
Pflichtkanon 2027: On the Move
The official focus is On the Move: Migration and Cross-Cultural Encounters. Work with school-provided or legally accessible excerpts and materials. Do not upload full copyrighted texts or film sequences to external services.
| Work | Author / director | Retrieval prompt |
|---|---|---|
| Arrival | Denis Villeneuve, 2016 | How do language, encounter and perspective shape understanding? |
| The Third and Final Continent | Jhumpa Lahiri | Which forms of migration, adaptation and belonging matter? |
| The Thing Around Your Neck | Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie | How are displacement, expectation and identity represented? |
| Green | Sefi Atta | Which tensions emerge between place, identity and social expectations? |
| Loose Change | Andrea Levy | How does an encounter challenge assumptions? |
| The Southside Raza Image Federation Corps of Discovery | Luis Alberto Urrea | How are community, place and identity connected? |
| The Embassy of Cambodia | Zadie Smith | How does perspective shape what the reader notices and ignores? |
| Exterior Paint | Kit de Waal | How do voice, identity and social context interact? |
| The Soldier’s Tale | Neel Mukherjee | How are movement, memory and belonging explored? |
BF: Work with the part of the canon selected and taught for your course, using stronger structure aids. LF: Build a wider network across several works, contexts and source types.
Themenfelder USA und UK
The 2027 regulations also require the course-level contextual fields around the USA and the UK, including historical development, identity and current political, cultural and social questions. Use documented sources and distinguish evidence from interpretation.

USA visual task: Describe only what you can observe first. Then connect the image to one taught concept such as freedom, migration, national ideals or contested realities. Add one source before making a factual claim.

UK visual task: Move from observation to context: What could this landmark help you discuss about continuity, institutions, empire, postcolonial Britain or identity? Do not treat a symbol as proof; connect it to evidence.
Dein Lernsystem
Spaced Repetition statt Wiederlesen

Spaced repetition means that you retrieve information after increasing gaps instead of rereading it continuously. The exact interval should follow your performance.
A practical starter rhythm is: Day 0 → Day 2 → Day 7 → Day 21 → Day 42. If retrieval is weak, shorten the next interval. If it is easy and accurate, lengthen it.
Use retrieval cards for:
| Front | Back |
|---|---|
| Theme + work | One precise link + one usable example |
| Character / speaker / perspective | Conflict + development + evidence location |
| Analytical term | Function + example sentence |
| Context concept | Definition + limitation + connection to a text |
| Frequent error | Correct pattern + one new sentence |
Do not turn the whole course into hundreds of isolated flashcards. Cards are for retrievable building blocks; understanding grows through speaking, analysing and writing.
English-first help ladder
When you get stuck, move through this order:
- Context: What does the sentence or scene suggest?
- Word formation: Can a prefix, suffix or word family help?
- Visualisation: Can you sketch the relationship, timeline or contrast?
- English explanation: Can you paraphrase the idea in simpler English?
- Dictionary: Check a reliable monolingual dictionary, then examples and collocations.
- German help: Use it last when the concept is still unclear.

Level check: Aim for clear, precise B2 English and develop C1 features where they genuinely improve meaning: flexible argument, nuanced vocabulary, complex but controlled syntax and confident interaction.
Kompetenztraining
Listening and Viewing

Three-pass routine:
- First pass: Write the gist in one English sentence.
- Second pass: Note speaker position, structure and five relevant details.
- Third pass: Check only the points you were uncertain about and write one inference.
The video above can connect language, migration and identity. Treat it as listening material first, not as a transcript-reading exercise.
Viewing transfer: After watching, separate definition, example and interpretation. Then connect one idea to a course text without forcing a false equivalence.
Reading
Use short legal excerpts, articles, speeches, graphics and passages supplied in class. For each text, write only five notes:
| Step | Question |
|---|---|
| Gist | What is the text mainly doing? |
| Position | What does the speaker or narrator want the reader to accept, notice or question? |
| Evidence | Which two details support this? |
| Method | Which structural or linguistic choice matters? |
| Link | Which required work or thematic field can be connected precisely? |
Reading rule: No highlighting before you can state the main idea in your own words.
Kontextwortschatz
Learn words in usable clusters, not as isolated translations.
| Concept | Useful language | Sentence frame |
|---|---|---|
| migration | migrate, migration, migrant, movement, route, destination | The text presents migration as ... rather than ... |
| belonging | belong, belonging, attachment, home, community | The narrator’s sense of belonging changes when ... |
| identity | self-perception, social identity, hybrid, negotiate | Identity is presented as dynamic because ... |
| encounter | encounter, perspective, misunderstanding, recognition | The encounter exposes a gap between ... and ... |
| argument | claim, evidence, assumption, counterargument, implication | The author’s claim is strengthened / limited by ... |
Create your own examples from class material. If a word sounds sophisticated but does not make your meaning more precise, do not use it.
Analyse: from feature to effect
Use the pattern Choice → Evidence → Effect → Meaning.
Weak: The author uses a metaphor.
Stronger: The metaphor frames the conflict as ..., which makes the reader perceive ...; this supports the text’s wider presentation of ...
For fiction, connect voice, perspective, structure, characterisation, setting, imagery and tone to meaning. For non-fiction, connect argument, evidence, framing, register, rhetoric and structure to purpose and audience.
Speaking

Weekly speaking cycle:
- 60 seconds: answer one course question without notes.
- 3 minutes: structure the answer as point → evidence → explanation → link.
- 5 minutes: give a mini-monologue with a clear opening and conclusion.
- Dialogue: ask a partner one follow-up question, challenge one point and build on one idea.
Recordings are voluntary and private. You do not need to upload your voice anywhere. If you record yourself, keep the file locally unless you have deliberately chosen another safe location.
After the video, choose one fluency strategy and test it for a week. Judge it by evidence: fewer long pauses, clearer structure or more flexible reformulation.
Writing

Use a short production loop:
| Stage | Maximum focus |
|---|---|
| Understand | Task, operator, audience, purpose |
| Plan | Thesis + paragraph function + evidence |
| Draft | Meaning first; do not interrupt every sentence for vocabulary |
| Revise | Task fulfilment, logic, evidence, paragraph links |
| Edit | Recurring grammar, word choice, register, spelling |
Practise different text purposes: analysis, discussion/comment, personal response and the text forms required in class such as article, blog entry, email/letter, letter to the editor or speech manuscript.
No replacement essays: Your first plan and first draft are yours. Feedback may help you diagnose a paragraph; it should not replace your thinking with a finished model answer.
Mediation
Mediation means selecting and conveying relevant meaning for a target audience, not translating every sentence.
Use the sequence: situation → audience → purpose → selection → reformulation → check. Train it when it is part of your course assessment. Keep names and personal data fictional in practice materials.
Pflichtwerke und Themen verknüpfen

Image analysis: First describe time, setting, people and visible details. Then formulate one cautious hypothesis about migration experience. Finally, identify what additional historical source you would need before turning that hypothesis into a factual claim.

Create a connection map with one required work in the centre. Add only links you can explain:
| Connection type | Prompt |
|---|---|
| Theme | What shared issue is explored? |
| Contrast | Where do two works disagree or differ in perspective? |
| Technique | How do form or perspective produce different effects? |
| Context | Which historical or social context helps without reducing the text to context? |
| Transfer | How can a new article, image or audio source be connected critically? |
Lernplan nach Prüfungsnähe
Phase 1: Build the system
More than 12 weeks left: Establish a weekly routine, repair major language gaps, create retrieval material and build secure knowledge of the works actually taught. Produce English every week.
Phase 2: Connect and time
About 12–7 weeks left: Link works and thematic fields. Increase timed listening, speaking and paragraph writing. Move from individual notes to comparison and transfer.
Phase 3: Exam mode
About 6–3 weeks left: Work under realistic time limits. Alternate full sections with focused repair sessions. BF uses structured oral transfer practice; LF increases independent AFB II/III synthesis.
Phase 4: Rehearse and taper
Final 2 weeks: Complete your last full rehearsal early enough to analyse it. In the final days, use short retrieval, selected speaking and light error review rather than cramming new material.
Generalproben
Plan at least three checkpoints:
| When | General rehearsal | What you measure |
|---|---|---|
| About 8 weeks before | One timed major section | Pacing, task understanding, biggest skill gap |
| About 4 weeks before | Near-complete simulation | Endurance, transitions, recurring errors |
| About 10–14 days before | Final realistic rehearsal | Stable routine and last repair priorities |
For LF, simulate the official sequence as closely as practical: listening, break and timed writing. For speaking, practise a structured monologue and responsive dialogue. For BF, adapt the rehearsal to the oral examination format used by your school and the material taught in your course.
Fehleranalyse und Feedback

After a task, do not ask only: What grade is this? Ask: What should I change next time?
| Error category | Example diagnostic question | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Task fulfilment | Did I answer every part of the task? | Rewrite the thesis or task plan. |
| Evidence | Did my evidence really support the claim? | Replace one weak example. |
| Analysis | Did I explain the effect and meaning? | Extend one paragraph with effect and link. |
| Logic | Is the paragraph order clear? | Reorder or add one transition. |
| Language | Which error repeats? | Create one retrieval card and three new sentences. |
| Time | Where did I lose minutes? | Change planning or checking limits in the next timed task. |
Feedback loop: attempt → feedback → diagnose → revise a small section → retrieve the rule later → test it in a new task.
KI, Quellen und Datenschutz
Use AI, if your school allows it, as a feedback and checking tool, not as an invisible substitute author.
- Write your own outline or first attempt before asking for feedback.
- Ask for diagnosis, counterquestions, vocabulary examples or error categories rather than a complete replacement essay.
- Check factual suggestions against the official Facherlass, your course materials, dictionaries and reliable sources.
- Do not upload full copyrighted required texts, protected film clips, private recordings or personal information without a clear legal basis and deliberate consent.
- Use fictional names and data in practice prompts. No external AI access is required for this aiMOOC.
- Document AI assistance when your school or task requires disclosure.
Abi-Check: 15 Minuten pro Woche
At the end of each week, answer:
| Check | Yes / not yet |
|---|---|
| I retrieved old material without notes. | |
| I listened to authentic English. | |
| I spoke English aloud. | |
| I produced and revised my own writing. | |
| I connected at least one work to a thematic field. | |
| I analysed one recurring error. | |
| Next week already has protected study slots. |
If four or fewer answers are yes, reduce the next week’s plan and protect the core routine instead of adding more resources.

Offene Aufgaben
Leicht

Lernkontrolle
