ABI - NOAH als Englisch-Abitur-Lernbegleiter nutzen
Mini-description: Use NOAH for discussion practice, communication-exam rehearsal, focused writing feedback, vocabulary and clarification. NOAH is a coach, not a substitute: you analyse, you write, you verify, you revise.

Media start – 3 minutes: Watch the short speaking-exam video. Then answer aloud: What makes a strong spoken response: content, structure, interaction or language – and why? Give your own answer first. Only then ask NOAH to challenge it.
Einleitung
This aiMOOC is for the Kursstufe in Baden-Württemberg, English as a continuing foreign language. It supports both Basisfach and Leistungsfach. The language target is B2, partly C1 as a learning orientation – clear and precise, not artificially difficult.
Core workflow: YOUR attempt → NOAH challenge → source check → YOUR revision.
| Use NOAH for … | Do not use NOAH for … |
|---|---|
| discussion practice and follow-up questions | replacing your own interpretation |
| communication-exam rehearsal | producing a memorised model performance |
| focused feedback on cohesion or selected language issues | rewriting your text |
| vocabulary clarification and word formation | giving you every answer before you have tried |
| checking questions and alternative perspectives | treating AI output as a source |
Privacy and copyright: Use fictional names and fictional personal data. Recordings are optional and should stay private unless your school explicitly asks for something else. Do not upload class lists, private photos, personal recordings, full copyrighted compulsory texts or unlicensed film clips. Use only the NOAH mode approved by your school or teacher. Do not activate external AI or web access unless it is explicitly authorised. Check important factual claims against reliable sources.
English first: your help ladder
When you get stuck, do not jump straight to a German translation.
| Step | Try this first |
|---|---|
| Context | What does the sentence around the word suggest? |
| Word formation | Look for prefix, root, suffix and word family. |
| Visualisation | Sketch the relation, timeline, contrast or concept. |
| English explanation | Explain the word in simple English and give one example. |
| Dictionary | Use a monolingual dictionary before a bilingual one when possible. |
| German help | Use it last, briefly and only if the meaning is still unclear. |

I-can goals
| By the end I can … | Evidence |
|---|---|
| analyse a passage independently | I make a claim, select evidence and explain its effect. |
| discuss an interpretation | I respond to follow-up questions instead of repeating a prepared answer. |
| write with clearer cohesion | I revise links between ideas without asking AI to rewrite. |
| clarify vocabulary | I use context, word formation and an English explanation before German help. |
| rehearse speaking | I sustain a monologue and develop a dialogue. |
| verify AI feedback | I compare it with the source, task and official criteria. |
Vorwissen: 5-minute diagnostic
Write or say short answers before using NOAH.
| Prompt | Self-check |
|---|---|
| What is the difference between summary and analysis? | Can I explain it without an example answer? |
| How do I support an interpretation? | Can I connect claim, evidence and effect? |
| What makes a paragraph coherent? | Can I name a logical relation between ideas? |
| How do I keep a discussion going? | Can I ask, respond, qualify and challenge? |
| How do I deal with an unknown word? | Do I use context before translation? |
Abi-Check Baden-Württemberg
Checked: 2 October 2026. The Ministry currently provides official documents for the 2027 and 2028 Abitur cohorts. Always select your own examination year before training.
Official Abitur information Baden-Württemberg
Bildungsplan Englisch Gymnasium
For the currently published 2028 regulations, the English LF includes the focus On the Move: Migration and Cross-Cultural Encounters. The official compulsory canon includes the film Arrival and short stories named in the Facherlass. This aiMOOC deliberately does not reproduce those works or unauthorised film sequences: use your lawful school editions and legal media access.
| Current LF orientation | What to train here |
|---|---|
| Written part: listening plus writing | listening strategy, reading-based writing, analysis and independent composition |
| Approx. 255 minutes working time, with a 15-minute break between listening and writing | timed practice in separate phases |
| Communication exam: 15 minutes preparation | planning keywords, not writing a script |
| Monologue about 5 minutes | structured response with evidence and examples |
| Dialogue about 10 minutes | interaction, follow-up, qualification and response |
| 2028 weighting: listening 20%, writing 55%, communication exam 25% | distribute practice time across all three areas |
BF/LF differentiation: BF uses more exemplary, manageable material and stronger scaffolding. LF uses broader and deeper material, higher text complexity, more independent linking of sources and a stronger focus on AFB II/III. Do not turn B2/C1 into artificial complexity: precision beats inflated language.
Four NOAH prompts to master
| Training goal | Prompt |
|---|---|
| Interpretation | Challenge my interpretation. Ask me for textual evidence. Do not give me a replacement interpretation. |
| Speaking | Ask me follow-up questions. Make me clarify, justify and respond to an alternative view. |
| Cohesion | Check cohesion only. Point out where the connection between ideas is weak. Do not rewrite my text. |
| Ownership | Do not rewrite my text. Give me two revision questions and let me make the changes. |

The diagram is a reminder: an AI system processes inputs; it does not turn an answer into verified evidence. For literary, factual and exam-related claims, return to the text, task, dictionary or official source.
Listening and Viewing

Active viewing: First viewing: note only the main message. Second viewing: note three concrete tips. Then close the video and reconstruct the advice from memory. Ask NOAH: “Ask me three follow-up questions about the video. Do not tell me the answers first.”
For authentic B2/C1 viewing practice, choose a short legal source such as the British Council Video Zone. Work with gist first, detail second, inference third.
BF: one short source, guided notes, one inference. LF: a denser source, fewer prompts, several inferences and links to context.
Reading
Use this sequence with a lawful excerpt from your course material:
| Phase | Your move |
|---|---|
| Skim | Identify text type, topic, speaker or narrator, situation and central tension. |
| Read closely | Mark only details that matter for the task. |
| Interpret | Write your own one-sentence claim. |
| Challenge | Ask NOAH: Challenge my interpretation. Ask for evidence. |
| Verify | Return to the text and decide whether your claim survives the challenge. |
Do not paste a complete copyrighted compulsory text into a chat. A short passage supplied legally for study is enough when your teacher allows it.
Context vocabulary
Build vocabulary in context, not as isolated translation pairs.
| Word work | Example question to NOAH |
|---|---|
| Meaning in context | Give me two possible meanings. Ask me which one fits this sentence and why. |
| Word formation | Show the root and word family. Do not translate yet. |
| Collocation | Which words commonly combine with this expression in formal English? |
| Register | Is this neutral, informal or formal in this context? |
| Retrieval | Give me a gap sentence later. Do not show the target word first. |
Rule: context → word formation → visualisation → English explanation → dictionary → German help.
Analysis
A useful chain is claim → evidence → technique → effect → purpose/context. NOAH may test the chain, but it should not build it for you.
Student first: Write one analytical paragraph. Then use:
“Challenge my interpretation. Ask me whether my evidence really supports my claim. Ask about technique and effect. Do not write an improved paragraph.”
For a non-literary text, you may focus on structure, language and communicative strategies. For a literary text, you may also focus on narrative technique, perspective, characterisation or imagery where relevant.
BF scaffold: one clear analytical focus, one evidence chain, sentence starters if needed. LF extension: compare several features, weigh alternative interpretations, connect material independently and evaluate implications.
Speaking and communication-exam rehearsal

LF full rehearsal, based on the current 2028 format: 15 minutes preparation → about 5 minutes monologue → about 10 minutes dialogue. Use a teacher-approved visual, quotation, thesis or other legal impulse. Do not rehearse with unauthorised extracts from compulsory works.
During practice, tell NOAH:
“Ask me follow-up questions. Do not give me model answers. Make me clarify one claim, support one point with evidence and respond to one alternative view.”
Useful interaction moves:
| Function | Language |
|---|---|
| qualify | I would partly agree, but … |
| invite | How would you respond to …? |
| challenge | What evidence supports that view? |
| connect | That links to the earlier point about … |
| revise | I would refine my first claim because … |
BF transfer: use shorter monologues, structured discussion cards and oral-exam/course formats set by your school. The official format for your own examination year always takes priority.
Record yourself only if you want to. Keep recordings private unless your school has an approved process.
Writing

Write first. Ask for narrow feedback second.
| If you need … | Use this prompt |
|---|---|
| cohesion feedback | Check cohesion only. Do not rewrite my text. Identify two places where the link between ideas is unclear and ask me to revise them. |
| task focus | Check whether each paragraph answers the task. Do not add content. |
| register | Mark two places where the register may not fit the text type. Do not replace the sentences. |
| language learning | Name one recurring grammar pattern I should check. Give me a rule and ask me to correct my own example. |
Do not ask: “Write the essay for me.” Do ask: “Do not rewrite my text.”
Keep your own version history: draft → feedback note → your revision → short reflection.
Error analysis
Do not correct everything at once. Choose one pattern.
| Pattern | Self-repair question |
|---|---|
| weak cohesion | What relation is missing: cause, contrast, example, consequence or qualification? |
| vague evidence | Which exact detail supports the claim? |
| repetition | Can I develop the idea instead of restating it? |
| register | Does the expression fit an analytical or formal context? |
| sentence control | Can I simplify the sentence without losing precision? |
NOAH prompt: “Identify one recurring pattern only. Explain the rule in English. Do not rewrite my text. Ask me to correct the first example myself.”
Mediation
Mediation is not word-for-word translation. Select what the target reader needs and express it appropriately in English.

Use fictional contexts, for example: A German school notice explains a local project; an English-speaking exchange student needs the relevant information.
Student workflow: understand → select → adapt → write/speak → check.
NOAH prompt: “Ask me who the target reader is, what information is relevant and what can be left out. Do not produce the mediation for me.”
Hilfen und Differenzierung BF/LF
| Dimension | BF | LF |
|---|---|---|
| Material | short, manageable, exemplary | broader, denser, more complex |
| Structure | visible steps and optional sentence starters | fewer prompts and more independent planning |
| Analysis | one or two clearly defined aspects | several aspects, alternatives and connections |
| Sources | one main source at a time | independent linking of several materials where appropriate |
| AFB | secure foundation plus guided transfer | stronger emphasis on AFB II/III |
| Language | clear B2 with selective stretch | precise B2 with C1-oriented range where meaningful |
Feedback loop
Use a four-step loop:
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| One | Produce your own answer. |
| Two | Ask for one narrow type of feedback. |
| Three | Verify feedback against text, task, dictionary or official source. |
| Four | Revise yourself and explain what changed. |
If NOAH gives a confident factual claim without a source, treat it as unverified until you have checked it.
Transfer
Take one skill into a new context.
Example: After analysing a short story, move to a speech, article, infographic or film still. Keep the same core question: What is the creator doing, how is it done, and what effect or purpose is relevant?
LF students should increasingly connect perspectives and materials independently. BF students can use a comparison grid or a smaller set of materials.
Abi-Check
Before calling a practice session “done”, ask yourself:
| Check | Yes / not yet |
|---|---|
| I answered before I asked NOAH. | |
| My interpretation is supported by evidence. | |
| I can explain why the evidence matters. | |
| My writing is my own. | |
| I used feedback selectively. | |
| I checked factual claims and sources. | |
| I can speak without reading a script. | |
| I know which official rules apply to my Abitur year. |

Lückentext
Offene Aufgaben
Leicht
- Vocabulary map: Choose six words from a legal course excerpt. Infer meaning from context, build word families and check only afterwards with a dictionary or NOAH.
- One-minute response: Give a private one-minute answer to a course question. Then ask NOAH for two follow-up questions. Recording is optional.
- Cohesion hunt: Mark the connectors in one paragraph of your own writing and explain the relation each one expresses.
- Prompt repair: Turn a weak request such as “Write my answer” into a prompt that keeps the thinking and writing with you.
Standard
- Interpretation challenge: Write one claim about a short legal excerpt, add evidence and let NOAH challenge the link without giving a replacement interpretation.
- Speaking ladder: Practise claim, reason, example, qualification and follow-up with a fictional exam impulse.
- Focused revision: Write a 180–250 word response, ask for cohesion-only feedback and document two revisions you made yourself.
- Mediation task: Create a fictional German school notice and mediate only the relevant information for an English-speaking exchange student.
Schwer
- Communication rehearsal: LF learners run a full 15-minute preparation plus monologue and dialogue rehearsal; BF learners adapt the length to their course format. Reflect on interaction rather than memorising phrases.
- Multi-source analysis: Compare a legal text, image or infographic and one additional source. Build your own synthesis before asking NOAH to challenge missing links.
- Error profile: Analyse three of your own texts, identify two recurring patterns and design a personal self-correction checklist without asking NOAH to rewrite examples.
- Abi simulation: Build a timed mini-exam with listening, reading or analysis, independent writing and speaking. Use only legal material and compare your process with the official rules for your examination year.

Lernkontrolle
- Interpretation under challenge: Explain how your interpretation changed after one counter-question and identify the textual evidence that justified the change.
- Feedback decision: Given three pieces of hypothetical AI feedback, decide which you would accept, reject or verify further and justify each decision.
- BF-LF transfer: Transform one BF task into an LF task by increasing breadth, depth, text complexity and independence without making the language artificially difficult.
- Speaking transfer: Respond to a new visual or quotation, then explain which interaction strategy helped you develop rather than repeat your position.
- Writing transfer: Revise a paragraph for cohesion only and explain why each change improves the logical relation between ideas.
- Source check: Take one factual claim relevant to an English course topic, verify it with two reliable sources and explain how the evidence affects your wording.
Lernnachweis
For a learning record, it is important that you can show the process, not just a polished product.
- Your own first attempt is visible before NOAH feedback.
- You use at least two of the four core prompts appropriately.
- You show one evidence-based interpretation that you revised yourself.
- You show one speaking rehearsal with self-reflection; a recording is not required.
- You show one writing revision based on focused feedback without replacement text.
- You document one vocabulary clarification using the English-first help ladder.
- You verify at least one AI-generated factual claim with a reliable source.
- You explain how your practice was adapted to BF or LF.
- You demonstrate privacy-aware use with fictional or minimal data.
