E6 G - Time words help you understand

Einleitung

Mini-Beschreibung: Time words are clues. Words like every day, now, yesterday and tomorrow help you understand when something happens.

Media warm-up: Look at the calendar and the clock. Say one English time word you know.

Try English first: Which word means "before today"? Hint: It starts with y. Deutsch-Hilfe: Denke an „gestern“. Example: Yesterday was Monday. Solution: yesterday

Video task: Watch only a short part, for example 0:25–3:20. Listen for every day, yesterday and tomorrow. You do not need to learn every verb form in the video.

I can ...

  1. I can notice the time words every day, now, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
  2. I can understand if a short message is about a routine, this moment, before today or after today.
  3. I can use a time word in a short sentence.
  4. I can listen and speak clearly enough to be understood.
  5. I can check a sentence and improve one important mistake.

Vorwissen-Check

Try English first. Match the idea in your head.

  1. every day: routine
  2. now: this moment
  3. yesterday: before today
  4. today: this day
  5. tomorrow: after today

Hint: Use the calendar picture. Deutsch-Hilfe: Du musst noch keine Grammatikregel nennen. Entscheide nur: Wann passiert etwas?

Notice: See and hear the clues

Picture input

Look and think:

  1. Morning and night can be parts of a day.
  2. A calendar helps you see yesterday, today and tomorrow.
  3. A clock helps you think about now.

Try English first: A new day starts. Which word can point to the day after today? Hint: to... Deutsch-Hilfe: der morgige Tag Example: Tomorrow is Friday. Solution: tomorrow

Audio input

Listen. Repeat if you want.

yesterday

today

tomorrow

Listening tip: First listen for the whole word. Then repeat. Clear speech is more important than a perfect accent.

every day again and again; routine I walk to school every day.
now at this moment I am reading now.

Reading strategy

  1. Notice the time word.

Feedback and use again

Then improve one sentence and use it again.

Example: “I play football yesterday.” → Keep the useful clue yesterday and check the verb with your notes or teacher.
