What do you notice?

For regular verbs, the simple past often looks easy:

watch	watched	We watched a film.

stop	stopped	The game stopped.

Keep it simple:

1. Most regular verbs: add -ed → play → played.
2. Verb ends in -e: add -d → like → liked.
3. Consonant + y: change y to i and add -ed → study → studied.
4. Some short verbs double the last letter → stop → stopped.

The form stays the same: I played. She played. We played. They played.

Last Saturday, Alex visited a friend. They played a board game. Then they watched a film. Alex walked home at six. At home, Alex cleaned the desk and listened to music.

Listen for three ending sounds:

Important: Clear and understandable English is the goal. You do not need a perfect accent.
