body It has + noun. It has a long tail.
ability It can + verb. After can, use the basic verb: can jump.
likes It likes + noun / verb-ing. It likes carrots. / It likes running.
habit It usually + verb-s. It usually sleeps.

Mini-check: Which is correct? It can jumps or It can jump? Feedback: It can jump is correct.

Model: Meet Milo

This is Milo. Milo is a small orange-and-white cat. He has green eyes, soft fur and long whiskers. He can jump and climb. He likes food and soft blankets. He usually sleeps in the afternoon. He is friendly, but he does not like loud noises.

Notice: The text is short, but the sentences are connected.

Short dialogue

A: What's your pet like? B: My pet is a rabbit. It is small and white. It has long ears. A: What can it do? B: It can jump and run. A: What does it usually do? B: It usually eats in the morning and rests in the afternoon.

Speak it twice. First read slowly. Then look away from the text and say as much as you can.

Use it: Build your own description

Choose a real or imaginary animal. You can use a fictional name and fictional details.

Step Your sentence starter
1 This is ...
2 It is ...
3 It has ...
4 It can ...
5 It likes ...
6 It usually ...

Mini-output: Write 5–7 connected sentences or give a 30–45 second mini-presentation.

Feedback loop

Read or say your description. Then check it.

Check Question
meaning Can another learner understand the animal?
vocabulary Did you use at least two describing words?
grammar Did you use can + basic verb?
habits Did you use one sentence with usually?
speaking Are your words clear enough to understand?

Use it again: Improve one sentence after feedback and say or write the new version.

Mini-repeat

Say the six chunks without looking:

This is ... → It is ... → It has ... → It can ... → It likes ... → It usually ...

Now change the animal and use the same pattern again.
