English: Since its inception (2009), ‘Prachyo’ has left a strong impression in the minds of common people & cultural stalwarts of the society. It has been associated with stalwarts like Dada SahebPhalke recipient Sri Soumitra Chatterjee, internationally acclaimed painter & esteemed theatre designer Sri HiranMitra, noted dramatist & present minister of education – West Bengal Sri BratyaBasu& other noted personalities and theatre enthusiasts as well.

‘Prachyo’ believes in producing quality work which is contemporary in its socio-cultural frame work, and in its deeply value based content. The institution aims to propagate community based theatre productions in the semi-urban & rural areas instead of confining themselves within the city. Its productions like ‘TritiyoAnkaOtaeb’, ‘Supari Killer’, ‘Romi O Juli’ & “CALIGULA” carry the signature of ‘Class’, ‘Quality’ & ‘Value’ that appeal audience beyond geographical limitations. In 2012, ‘Prachyo’ organized 3 days drama festival that made them exclusive to the wider sensitive audience in semi urban & rural areas. In 2013 10 days the International Bengali Theatre Festival is also a bold step in the world of Performing Arts. In 2010 Prachyo had organised a series of seminars titled “ NabhenduSen Memorial Lectures” on the topic “ Interaction and relationship between Theatre and other Art Forms” and the speakers included Suman Mukhopadhyay, Nabarun Bhattacharya, Ashok Mukhopadhyay, ArunMukhopadhyay, DebajyotiMisra, DebeshChattopadhyay, SanchayanGhosh, Dipak Mukherjee, Dwijen Banerjee and others. In 2011 a workshop on the Purulia form of Chau dance was also organised by Prachyo.
