Connect the literature. Challenge assumptions. Understand function.

Targeted narrative search of publisher pages, PubMed and PMC; not a systematic review or meta-analysis. Fourteen primary studies: thirteen peer-reviewed and one preprint. First-publication dates in the selected set reach June 2026; later material has not been comprehensively checked. Older mechanistic studies were retained. No original raw-data analysis or experiments were performed.

Title, DOI, date and source access were checked separately. The targeted FTL1/DUB prior-art search did not establish novelty. The June 2026 cardiac study was followed up via PMID 42346394. Press and social sources were not used as outcome evidence. Some PubMed/PMC/Elsevier pages were challenge-protected; source-level access limitations are in the register. Full supplements, all power analyses, conflicts of interest and raw data were not audited. Independent replication was generally not assessed. Clinical intervention studies and trial registers were outside this first mechanistic report; their omission is not an assessment of the clinical field.

Next run: new studies, corrections and independent replications; a focused test of the FTL1/redox/DUB hypothesis. Preserve negative searches and conflicting evidence.
