Einleitung
You already know many English words. Now make them easy to understand.
In this aiMOOC, you listen, notice, practise and speak. A personal accent is okay. Clear speech is more important than sounding like another person.
Learning path: Notice → understand → practise → use → feedback → use again.
The Baden-Württemberg G-level for classes 5–6 focuses on understandable pronunciation of familiar words, word stress and simple intonation. A first-language accent can still be present. This course follows that idea.

Before you start: quick check
Say these three sentences quietly or to a partner:

Ask yourself:
- Was every word understandable?
- Did I speak too fast?
- Did one important word sound stronger?
- Could I say it again a little more clearly?
No recording is needed. If you record yourself, do it only voluntarily and keep the recording private unless you have clear permission to share it.

Two people can speak English clearly and still sound different. English has many accents. You do not need to copy one accent perfectly.
Your job: Make the important words easy to hear.

Your speaking tools
Your lips, tongue, teeth and voice help you make sounds. You do not need difficult phonetic terms here.
Use three simple tools:
- Slow down a little. Do not rush.
- Stress the important part. One syllable in a word can sound stronger.
- Finish the word. Make important final sounds easy to hear.
Understand: Word stress
Some words have more than one syllable. One syllable is usually stronger.
Say and clap:
TEA-cher com-PU-ter ba-NA-na
Do not shout the strong syllable. Make it only a little clearer.
Video task: Watch only a short part first. Find one tip that can help you speak more clearly.

Question or statement?
Listen to your own voice.
You like music. Do you like music?
A question and a statement can sound different. In short classroom English, your voice often helps the listener understand your meaning.
Try:
You are ready. Are you ready?
Do not learn a long rule. Listen, copy the sentence melody and check if your partner understands the meaning.

Read the dialogue with a partner.
A: Hi. I'm Jamie. What's your name? B: I'm Sam. A: Do you like music? B: Yes, I do. I like pop music. A: Cool. Can you help me with this word? B: Yes. Say it slowly first.

Short writing output
Write a short message with 3–4 sentences.
Use this frame:
Hi ... , I'm at ... . I need help with ... . Can you ... , please? Thanks, ...
Read your message aloud after writing it. Mark one word in each sentence that you want to stress.
Sprachmittlung: Help a visitor
A German student says:
„Ich finde Raum 12 nicht. Kannst du bitte fragen, wo er ist?“
Say a simple English sentence for the student.
Try English first.
Hint: Start with: Excuse me. Where ...?

Feedback: Two stars and one next step
After speaking, your partner gives short feedback.
Star 1: I understood ... Star 2: This word was clear: ... Next step: Say ... a little slower / stress ... / finish the last sound.
Only choose one next step. Then say the sentence again.
Important: Feedback is about understanding, not about removing your accent.

Safe media and AI use
Use only material your teacher has approved. The Wikimedia Commons media in this course have file pages with reuse information. The YouTube videos are embedded from an official educational channel.
Do not upload your voice, photo or personal data without clear permission. A recording task is voluntary and can stay private.
If you use AI for practice, check its answer. Then say or write the final sentence yourself. AI can make mistakes. Your own clear message is the goal.

- Repair a message: A partner does not understand one sentence. Show two different ways to make the same sentence clearer without changing its meaning.
- Stress for meaning: Choose three familiar multisyllable words from the course. Explain and demonstrate where you place the stress.
- Mini-dialogue transfer: Use the sentence starters in a new school situation, for example in the library, canteen or classroom.
- Use feedback: Perform a short speaking task, receive one specific comment and demonstrate a second improved version.
