E5 E - My virtual trip to Britain

E5 E - My virtual trip to Britain

Mini-Beschreibung: Plane eine kleine virtuelle Reise mit mehreren Stopps und präsentiere sie in einfachem Englisch. Du siehst Bilder und Karten, hörst kurze Wörter, sprichst nach und baust am Ende eine kleine Präsentation.

Listen and repeat: a trip

Einleitung

Welcome! Today you plan a virtual trip.

Your learning loop is:

see → listen → understand → repeat → use → feedback → use again

Hilfe auf Deutsch: Im Titel steht „Britain“. Für unsere Reise schauen wir auf das ganze United Kingdom (UK). Great Britain ist die Insel mit England, Scotland und Wales. Northern Ireland gehört zum UK, aber nicht zu Great Britain.

Watch a little. What can you see? Say one word: city, river, bus, tower or bridge.

Lernziele

At the end, you can say:

  1. I can plan a short virtual trip.
  2. I can talk about four stops in simple English.
  3. I can give a short presentation with first, then and finally.

Vorwissen-Check

Think for ten seconds.

  1. Can you find the UK on a map?
  2. Can you say: I want to visit ...?
  3. Do you know the words first, then and finally?

Hilfe: Wenn Du zweimal „no“ denkst, ist das völlig in Ordnung. Nutze zuerst Bild, Audio und Beispielsätze.

Your virtual route

Our example route has four stops:

Stop Country Simple idea
London England See a famous clock tower and the city.
Cardiff Wales See a castle and a city park.
Edinburgh Scotland See the castle and the old city.
Giant's Causeway Northern Ireland See rocks, sea and coast.

Your useful chunk: I want to visit ... because ...

Easy help: because it is big / old / interesting / near the sea.

Stop 1: London

Listen and repeat: London.

Read: London is in England. It is a big city. I want to see the famous clock tower near the Houses of Parliament.

Say: I want to visit London.

Add one idea: I want to visit London because it is interesting.

Stop 2: Cardiff

Read: Cardiff is the capital of Wales. You can see Cardiff Castle and green parks.

Say: Next, I want to go to Cardiff.

Mini-task: Choose one: castle / park / city. Say: I want to see the ...

Stop 3: Edinburgh

Listen and repeat: Edinburgh.

Read: Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. Edinburgh Castle is on a high rock above the city.

Say: Then, I want to visit Edinburgh.

Hilfe: Sprich verständlich und ruhig. Verständlichkeit ist wichtiger als ein „perfekter“ Akzent.

Stop 4: Giant's Causeway

Read: The Giant's Causeway is in Northern Ireland. It is on the coast. You can see many unusual rock columns by the sea.

Say: Finally, I want to see the Giant's Causeway.

Think: What can you see? rocks / sea / coast

Listen, repeat and use

Step 1 – Listen. Play one short audio two or three times.

Step 2 – Repeat. Copy the word slowly.

Step 3 – Use it. Make a full sentence.

Example:

London → I want to visit London.

Edinburgh → Then, I want to visit Edinburgh.

Feedback: Is your sentence easy to understand? Does it have a place? If yes: use it again with one reason.

Mini dialogue

A: Where do you want to go?

B: I want to go to Edinburgh.

A: What do you want to see?

B: I want to see the castle.

Your turn: Change the place and the sight.

Hilfe: Nutze nur Wörter, die Du sicher kannst. Ein kurzer klarer Satz ist besser als ein schwieriger Satz mit vielen Fehlern.

Grammar in action

We use want to + verb for a plan.

I want to visit London.

I want to see the castle.

We use there is / there are to describe a place.

There is a castle.

There are many rocks.

Now make two sentences about one stop.

Mini presentation

Use this model. The profile is fictional.

Hi, I'm Mia. This is my virtual trip. First, I go to London. I want to see the city. Then, I go to Cardiff. I want to see the castle. Next, I visit Edinburgh. Finally, I go to the Giant's Causeway. I want to see the sea and the rocks. Thank you.

Now make your own mini presentation with three or four stops.

Mini-presentation plan:

Part Your sentence
Start Hi. This is my virtual trip.
Stop 1 First, I go to ...
Stop 2 Then, I go to ...
Stop 3 Next, I visit ...
End Finally, I go to ... Thank you.

Optional: You may record your voice privately on your own device. Do not upload a recording unless your teacher and your parent or guardian have clearly agreed. You do not need an external AI tool.

Feedback and second try

Give simple feedback to a partner:

  1. I understand your route.
  2. I like your clear sentences.
  3. Please say this place again.
  4. Add one reason.

Then say your mini presentation one more time.

If you use an AI help tool, check every suggestion. Keep your own simple English. Do not copy words you cannot explain.

Mini-Wiederholung

Say without looking:

First ... Then ... Next ... Finally ...

Name two places and one thing you want to see.

Then look back and improve one sentence.
