E10 M - Realschulabschluss Englisch 2027 systematisch vorbereiten

Mini-Beschreibung: Bereite die zentralen Englischkompetenzen für die Realschulabschlussprüfung 2027 in Baden-Württemberg systematisch vor. Zielgruppe: Klasse 10, M-Niveau, Englisch als erste Fremdsprache. Der Kurs ist B1-orientiert, arbeitet überwiegend auf Englisch und nutzt ausschließlich neu entwickelte prüfungsnahe Aufgaben.

Start task – English first: Watch only the first six minutes. Write down the topic, five key words and one idea you find interesting. Do not translate the whole video. Then explain the main idea in two or three English sentences.

Mediation What does this person really need to know? purpose-based transfer
Feedback Which change improves meaning most? error log + second version
Transfer Can I do it with less help and under time pressure? mini mock exam

Listening and Viewing

Use a two-pass strategy: first listen for gist, then for details. During the first pass, do not stop after unknown words. During the second pass, note names, reasons, contrasts, examples, numbers and changes of opinion.

New task – Future of transport:

  1. First viewing: Write a one-sentence summary.
  2. Second viewing: Note five details that support the main idea.
  3. Analyse: Which signal words introduce examples or contrasts?
  4. Respond: Give your own 45-second view. Start with “In my view …” and add one reason and one example.
  5. Transfer: Listen to a different two-minute English clip and use the same note-taking grid.

Help ladder: gist → key words → evidence → response. Use subtitles only after your first listening attempt.

Reading: Evidence before opinion

New fictional text – Youth Skills Week

Riverdale Secondary School has introduced a five-day “Skills Week” for Year 10 students. Instead of normal lessons, students work on practical challenges with local organisations. One group plans a low-cost event for younger pupils, another designs a social-media campaign for the town library, and a third creates a simple budget for a fictional start-up. The school says the week is not meant to replace academic learning. Its aim is to show how reading, maths, languages and teamwork are used outside the classroom.

Some students were unsure at first because the week includes presentations and spontaneous teamwork. After two days, however, many said that the tasks felt more realistic than ordinary worksheets. They also noticed that clear communication mattered as much as having good ideas. Teachers reported that students often revised their plans after receiving feedback from team members.

Not everyone is convinced. A few students would prefer more exam practice so close to the final school year. The school therefore plans to combine future Skills Weeks with short revision sessions. The student council will collect feedback before the next programme is designed. No final decision has been made yet.

Reading tasks:

  1. Give the text a headline of no more than eight words.
  2. Find two reasons for the Skills Week.
  3. Explain why some students were worried.
  4. Quote or paraphrase one sentence that shows a change of view.
  5. What compromise is planned?
  6. Write one inference that is supported by the text and name the evidence.

Rule: Answer first from the text. Add your own opinion only when the task asks for it.

Kontextwortschatz

Learn chunks, not isolated word lists.

Function Useful language
giving an opinion in my view; from my perspective; I would argue that
adding evidence according to the text; the example shows; this suggests that
contrasting however; although; whereas; on the other hand
reacting I see your point, but ...; That makes sense because ...; I am not convinced yet.
negotiating Could we agree on ...?; What if we ...?; I could accept that if ...
presenting first of all; another key point; to sum up
application language apply for; relevant experience; strengths; available; responsibilities

Vocabulary sprint: Use five expressions in a new context. Then replace two basic words such as “good”, “bad”, “nice” or “thing” with more precise vocabulary.

Pronunciation: Verständlichkeit vor Akzentfreiheit

The goal is clear communication, not copying one accent. Focus on word stress, sentence stress, chunking and clear endings.

Practice:

  1. Mark the stressed syllable in: information, application, responsible, communicate, presentation.
  2. Read one sentence in meaningful chunks.
  3. Repeat it slightly faster without losing key sounds.
  4. Record yourself only if you want to. Keep recordings private or inside an approved school system unless you have explicit permission to share them.

Self-check: Could a listener understand the important words on the first try?

Speaking: react, extend, negotiate

New dialogue task – School exchange budget: Your class has money for one major activity during an English-speaking exchange week. Choose between a sports event, a museum workshop, a music project and a city challenge. In pairs, discuss priorities and agree on one plan.

Use this pattern: react → reason → example → question.

Example frame: “I see your point. I would still choose the city challenge because ... For example, ... What do you think about ...?”

Do not memorise a complete dialogue. Change one condition halfway through: the budget is smaller, the weather changes or one activity is unavailable.

Kommunikationsprüfung 2027

Die Kommunikationsprüfung in der Pflichtfremdsprache dauert pro Schülerin oder Schüler ungefähr 15 Minuten. Sie kann einzeln oder zu zweit stattfinden. Die drei Teile folgen ohne Pause und ohne Vorbereitungszeit.

Teil Ziel Training
Monologisches Sprechen Thema selbstständig strukturieren und frei präsentieren keyword notes, clear structure, useful media, short follow-up answers
Dialogisches Sprechen spontan und situationsbezogen reagieren initiate, respond, ask back, negotiate, repair communication

Presentation drill

Choose one topic you genuinely know something about: a hobby, a local project, a social issue, technology in everyday life, a book, a sport or an aspect of an English-speaking country.

Prepare only:

  1. opening question or hook
  2. three key ideas
  3. one useful visual
  4. one example
  5. one conclusion
  6. three possible follow-up questions

Speak from keywords, not from a written script.

Writing: plan → draft → revise

Before writing, answer four questions: Who am I writing to? Why am I writing? Which text type fits? What must the reader know?

Prüfungsnahes D1-Training – neu entwickelt

Choose one statement and write about 100 words.

  1. “School students learn more when they work in teams.”
  2. “A part-time job is useful before leaving school.”
  3. “Phones should stay outside the classroom.”

Use: clear position → two reasons → example → short conclusion.

After writing, count approximately. Train towards the official target range instead of trying to fill space with repetition.

Prüfungsnahes D2-Training – neu entwickelt

Write about 160 words.

Task: Your school website is preparing an article called “Ready for life after Year 10?”. Write the article. Explain two skills students need, give practical examples and include one suggestion for how schools could support these skills.

Optional source-reference extension with fictional practice sources:

Source A – fictional Riverdale student poll: Most respondents say they want more practice in speaking confidently and organising deadlines.

Source B – fictional careers adviser note: Employers often ask young applicants to explain examples of teamwork, reliability and problem-solving.

Refer to at least one source in your own words. Make clear that you are using information, not copying sentences.

Formal and informal email

Task: Write the same message twice: first to a close exchange partner, then to the coordinator of a work-experience programme. Compare greeting, contractions, vocabulary, sentence length, request and closing.

Key question: Does the register fit the reader?

Application and CV – nur fiktive Profile

Fictional profile: Jamie Winter Age: 16. School: Riverdale Secondary School. Experience: two-week library placement, helped organise a school sports day, basic spreadsheet skills, English and German, interested in event work.

Fictional vacancy: Greenline Events – weekend assistant

Write a short application email and a one-page fictional CV. Use only the invented information above. Do not enter your private address, phone number, date of birth or other real personal data into public tools.

Interview transfer: Answer “Tell me about a time you solved a problem” with a short situation → action → result structure.

Report, article and opinion

Text type Main purpose Typical move
report inform clearly and organise findings headings, observations, recommendation
article interest a wider audience engaging opening, examples, clear ending
opinion argue a position claim, reason, evidence, counterpoint
formal email communicate to a specific professional reader clear subject, polite request, concise close
informal email personal communication natural tone, direct response, friendly close

Transfer task: Turn your D2 article into a 120-word report for the school management. Keep the core information but change register, structure and purpose.

Mediation / Sprachmittlung

German input – newly written:

Die Stadtbibliothek veranstaltet am Samstag einen kostenlosen Workshop für Jugendliche ab 14 Jahren. Thema ist „Sicher recherchieren im Internet“. Beginn ist um 11 Uhr, Ende um 13 Uhr. Eine Anmeldung ist bis Donnerstag online erforderlich. Wer keinen eigenen Laptop hat, kann bei der Anmeldung ein Gerät reservieren.

Situation: Your English-speaking exchange partner wants to join but does not understand German.

Your task: Explain only the information that matters to your partner. Do not translate sentence by sentence. Add a short check question at the end.

Good mediation asks: Who needs what information, for which purpose, in which tone?

Funktionale Grammatik

Grammar supports communication. Ask first: What do I want the sentence to do?

Function Useful structures Mini-task
contrast ideas although, however, whereas connect two opposing views
give advice or obligation should, must, have to advise a classmate before an exam
express conditions if-clauses explain what happens if a plan changes
describe experience present perfect and simple past separate life experience from a finished event
focus on an action passive voice write a formal process sentence
add precise information relative clauses combine two short sentences

Correction rule: Fix errors that block meaning first. Then improve accuracy, variety and style.

Feedback und Fehleranalyse

Use a four-pass revision:

  1. Task fit: Did I answer every part and address the right person?
  2. Meaning: Is my main message clear?
  3. Organisation: Are ideas connected and ordered?
  4. Language: Can I improve grammar, vocabulary, spelling or register?

Create an error log with four columns: my sentence | problem | improved version | rule or strategy.

Keep your first version. Feedback is useful only if you can see what changed.

KI, Quellen und Datenschutz

Use AI only when your school rules and the task allow it. Keep your own original text and your revised version. Check factual claims and sources instead of accepting generated information automatically. Do not send private recordings, real application data or personal profiles to external AI services without explicit permission.

For media or cultural topics, compare concrete sources and perspectives. Avoid statements such as “people in country X are always ...”. Describe evidence, context and differences instead of cultural stereotypes.

Can-do-Check

Rate each statement: secure / almost / practise next.

Can-do My status
I can understand the gist before focusing on details.
I can support a reading answer with evidence.
I can speak for several minutes from keyword notes.
I can react spontaneously and ask follow-up questions.
I can write within a target length without padding.
I can change register for a different reader.
I can mediate meaning without translating everything.
I can name my three most frequent error types and correct them.
