A panel is one picture in a comic.

A character is a person or animal in the story.

Listen with the comic

Ask a teacher or partner to read the text slowly. Read it two times.

Listening script:

Speaker 1: Hi, Ben. Where is my blue bag?

Speaker 2: I don't know. Look around!

Speaker 2: Look! Max has your bag.

Speaker 1: Max! Come here, please!

Speaker 1: Thanks, Max!

Speaker 2: Great! You have your bag. The bus is here!

First listening: Point to the correct panel.

Second listening: Point to the character who speaks.

Try English first: Write two short lines.

Hint: Use 3–6 words in each bubble.

German help: Schreibe zwei kurze Sprechblasen. Nutze Wörter aus der Word Bank.

Example: “Look! The bus!”

Possible solution: “Here is your bag!” / “Thanks! Let's go!”

Do not copy the solution if your own idea works.

Optional mediation

A friend does not understand the comic. Explain the story in two short German sentences.

Do not translate every speech bubble. Explain the main action.

Clue strategy: Du bekommst einen neuen kurzen Comic mit zwei unbekannten Wörtern. Erkläre, wie Bilder, Figuren und bekannte Wörter Dir trotzdem helfen.
Story order: Zwei Panels wurden vertauscht. Begründe mit Bild- und Textsignalen, welche Reihenfolge sinnvoll ist.
