Solution: Sentence A is clear: Mia + plays + basketball + after school.

The word and links the ideas. Each part still needs clear word order.

Understand
A useful basic pattern is:
subject + verb + object + place + time
Example: We play football in the park on Fridays.
Not every sentence needs all parts. But the core order should stay easy to follow. In standard English statements, subject–verb–object is a common basic order. Place often comes before time at the end.
Do not copy German word order word by word. Build the English sentence from the English pattern instead.
Linking short ideas

Key idea: After a linking word, make the next idea clear. A full new clause usually has its own subject and verb.

Read the mini-story:
Noah gets up at seven, and he eats breakfast in the kitchen. He is tired, but he packs his school bag. He checks the bus time because he does not want to be late. The bus arrives, so Noah leaves the house.

Step 1: Build the sentence
Put the words into a clear sentence:
after school / Lena / meets / her friend
Try English first.
Hint: Start with the person.
German help: Beginne mit dem Subjekt, dann Verb, dann Ergänzung. Eine Zeitangabe kann am Ende stehen.
Example: Tom plays tennis after school.

Step 2: Link two ideas
Choose a good linking word:
Ben wants to go outside, ___ it is raining.
Hint: The two ideas are different.

Step 3: Keep the order clear
Improve this sentence:

Hint: Make one clear idea before or after because.
German help: Baue zwei verständliche Satzteile.
Example: I wear a jacket because it is cold.
Solution: We play in the garden because it is sunny.
Pronunciation and speaking
Clear speech is more important than sounding like a native speaker. Read these sentences aloud:
I finish my homework, and I call my friend. I want to go out, but it is raining.
Pause a little at the comma. Make the important content words easy to hear.
Partner task: Ask and answer: What do you do after school? Use two linked sentences.
