Mini-Beschreibung: In this aiMOOC you talk about plans and make simple predictions. You use familiar patterns with be going to and will. The focus is communication: understand a situation, say what you mean, get feedback and use the language again.

Look first. It is Friday afternoon. Mia has a calendar. Sam looks at the weather. Noah has a backpack.
Think: What are they going to do this weekend? What will the weather be like?
Listening tip: Listen once without stopping. On the second listen, write down two activities you hear.

Sam: Maybe. I think Sunday will be sunny.
Notice the chunks: “I’m going to …”, “We’re going to …”, “I think it will …”, “Sunday will be …”
Do not turn this into a rule race. First notice what each speaker wants to say.

Understand
Plans with going to
Use a familiar pattern for a plan:

Für einen Plan hilft Dir das bekannte Muster: am/is/are + going to + Grundform des Verbs.
Simple predictions with will
You can make a simple future statement with a familiar chunk:
I think it will rain.
I think our team will win.
The trip will be fun.
After will, use the base verb: will rain, will win, will be.
Watch only for useful sentences. You do not need a long grammar explanation.

- one plan for Saturday,
- one plan for Sunday,
- one future time word.
Then say your answers to a partner.

Hi Sam,

Pronunciation: clear before perfect
Say these chunks slowly, then at normal speed:
I’m going to visit my cousin.
We’re going to meet at ten.
I think it will be fun.
It won’t rain all day.
Focus: Make the key words easy to hear. You do not need to copy a particular accent.
Optional private recording: Record yourself only if you want to, on your own device. Do not upload a personal recording unless your teacher has clearly asked for it and you know where it goes.
Speaking: weekend cards
Partner A asks: What are you going to do this weekend?
Partner B answers with two connected sentences.
Then add one prediction: I think it will ...
Example: I’m going to play football on Saturday. Then I’m going to visit my grandparents. I think it will be a good day.

Short writing: My weekend
Write a short message of 4–6 sentences.
Use:
- two plans with a familiar going-to pattern,
- one time word,
- one simple prediction with will,
- one linking word such as and, then or but.
Starter: Hi ..., This weekend I’m going to ...

Plan first: “I’m going to ...” Prediction later: “I think ... will ...”
