Aging / Altern

Which biological mechanisms could measurably slow or partly reverse age-related functional decline in humans?

Current research comes first. Axolotl regeneration and brain aging are the starting points; credible evidence guides expansion.

Current project status

⚪ Level 1: literature foundation. 🔵 Level 2: two provisional synthesis hypotheses; novelty has not been established. No level 3–5 findings. No experiments performed by this project or confirmed AI breakthroughs.

  • ⚪ Level 1 – Scientifically grounded: Grounded in credible literature; no special new insight from this AI project.
  • 🔵 Level 2 – Notable insight / strong hypothesis: Relevant connection, research gap or synthesis; further testing required.
  • 🟢 Level 3 – Breakthrough in a target or sub-question: Substantial new result for a specific question; project assessment, not automatic confirmation.
  • 🟣 Level 4 – Major research breakthrough: Several independent evidence lines; intensive checks of counterarguments, alternatives and reproducibility.
  • 🟡 Level 5 – Potentially fundamental discovery: Extremely rare; potentially fundamental significance, explicitly not yet scientific confirmation.

Methods and source coverage

Targeted, non-exhaustive initial search: 14 primary studies, including 13 peer-reviewed publications and one explicitly labelled preprint. Publication dates range from 2022 to June 2026; searched on 2026-09-28. Later studies have not been comprehensively checked; this does not imply a lack of research progress. Daily reports also document days without credible new findings.
